On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, the Beach Arena (Beach Office 5 in Lignano Sabbiadoro) will host a concert by Tony Esposito to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his famous song “Kalimba De Luna”.
Released in the summer of 1984, “Kalimba De Luna” quickly became one of the most danced-to and recognized songs in Italy and abroad, thanks to its distinctive ethnic rhythm and unique percussion. The single, from the album “Il grande esploratore”, was written by Tony Esposito along with Joe Amoruso, Mauro Malavasi, and Remo Licastro, and sold about 15 million copies worldwide. The success of the song was such that it was covered by international artists, like Boney M., who made an English version.
To celebrate this milestone, Tony Esposito has created a 2024 remix of “Kalimba De Luna”, produced by Danny Losito of Double Dee and Joe Mangione. The remix, titled “Kalimba 2024”, promises to be one of the summer’s hits.
During the concert in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Tony Esposito will be accompanied by “Luca Artioli & La Banda del Sur”. The band, born in Berlin at the venue “El Sur”, is known for its energetic jam sessions. The show will also include a tribute to Esposito’s collaborations with Pino Daniele and a selection of the greatest hits of international world music.
Admission to the concert is free and open to everyone until all seats are filled.
